During the 1930s, young Walter Gehmann began to conquer various competitions and was noticed shooter. The fierce desire to win the competitors in the small-bore and large-caliber weapons, resulted in winning the competition at the national level. Looking for improving the results started to develop shooting equipment. In 1936 he designed the first precise diopterski mechanism. The following year he developed the first pair of shooting glasses with movable lens. In 1939 he produced the first of Germany shooting jacket, belt shooting, shooting boots and specialized gloves.
